The decision to translate a software product into foreign languages often forms a vital part of a firm's growth strategy. Some clients only want to submit extracted strings for translation, while some clients want a full-service localization - submitting their source code, and receiving a compiled localized product in return. Just as nobody wants to accept anything but a perfect build for release in the home market, this demand should be no different for the other-language versions sold abroad.

Meridian's in-house staff and translators understand the functionality of software applications, and have in-depth knowledge of how a software package is built up. We adapt each of the software components (such as the UI, printed documentation, online help, etc.) to meet the expectations and requirements of users living in the target market. The Meridian team of project managers, translators, engineers and QA people use the latest hardware and software (both proprietary and third party tools) to optimize our localization processes. In addition, we have a further specialty in the localization of software into the problematic bidirectional languages (Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi). We have tried-and-true processes in place to meet the challenges these languages pose, and deliver a ready bidirectional product to the client.

Localizing software goes far beyond translation. Meridian's QA department operates on the guiding principle that a localized application should reflect the natural feel of the original. To this end, all laboratory computers can be reconfigured to any language's native operating system for development and testing, with just a simple reboot.
