Documentation Translation
Meridian handles a wide range of documentation translations ranging from simple text to complex printed manuals.
Manuals, User Guides, and Brochures
Meridian's highly skilled team of translators, desk-top-publishers and graphic artists ensures that your translated manuals, marketing materials, packaging and other printed matter is as attractive and effective as the original. Our experience in translating and formatting large user guides and manuals allows us to easily handle such projects in multiple languages simultaneously. Working in both PC and Mac, Meridian uses the most popular DTP programs, including: FrameMaker, Quark, PageMaker, Illustrator, Word, FreeHand, Publisher, Acrobat, Corel Draw, and PhotoShop.
Translation Memory
Meridian's documentation team uses the latest Translation Memory tools to efficiently reuse the client's previously completed translations, thus saving time and money. We use commercially available TM tools and filters to process a wide variety of standard and proprietary file formats. Even if the client's previously translated material was not processed using a TM tool, Meridian can process and import the old translation to create a Translation Memory before beginning the new project.
Adobe PDF Documentation (Portable Document Format)
Meridian can convert many file formats to the Adobe PDF format for use as electronic documentation. Depending on the needs of the client, this can be a simple electronic copy of a manual, or a high-resolution online guide with bookmarks, hyperlinks, cross-references, and hyperlinked index and table of contents. In complex projects, some languages, such as those with double-byte and bidirectional character-sets, require a high level of expertise. Meridian's documentation team has extensive experience in full-service PDF generation for over 20 languages, allowing us to produce high-quality and fully-functional PDF's in any language required.
